The doors will close at 8:30 p.m. Students who are going to be late to the Prom (past 8:30 p.m.) must call and inform an administrator. The telephone numbers are: (301) 523-1848 or (410) 979-4603.
Directions to the Ten Oaks Ballroom:
Take Route 32 West towards Columbia. Take Exit 20 Route 108 – Olney/ Clarksville. Turn right at the stop light at the end of the exit ramp. Turn right at the first light, which is Signal Bell Lane. The Ten Oaks Ballroom is on the right, next to the Fire Station.
The dress for the Prom is formal. Gentlemen should wear either a tux or a dress suit, dress shirt and tie and dress shoes. Ladies should be dressed formally, in either long or short dresses. The dresses must be modest and appropriate for the occasion. If any student is not dressed appropriately, he/she will not be admitted to the Prom and parents/guardians will be called to pick them up.
Permission Slips and Prom Promise:
Pallotti students and their guests must have a permission slip signed by their parent/guardian. All attendees must sign a Prom Promise form regarding their attire and behavior.
The cost of the Prom ticket is $85 per person. The ticket includes a full course, catered dinner. The tickets will go on sale on April 30, 2012, before and after school, in Mrs. Lutz’s office. Tickets are non-refundable after May 11, 2012. Each Pallotti student is permitted to bring one non-Pallotti guest. The guest must have a permission slip signed by their parent/guardian and present a photo identification card to be admitted to the Prom.
The Post Prom Party will be held at the Dave and Busters in Bethesda. The cost of the Post Prom Party is $20 per student. Students do not need to bring any money to the Post Prom Party. All food and games are paid for by the committee and are free to the students.
Students who are attending the Post Prom party should bring a bag with casual clothes with them to the Prom. The clothes should be comfortable, appropriate for the weather and modest. The student’s name should be clearly visible on the outside of the bag. They will be randomly checked by parents upon entering the Prom. Any medication must be turned in to Mrs. Duckworth upon entering the Prom, with directions from the parent. This must also be noted on the permission slip.
At midnight, the parents will bring the bags into the ballroom where the students (separate rooms for boys and girls) will change into their casual clothes. The volunteer parents will then transport the formal wear to Pallotti High School.
We will leave the Ten Oaks Ballroom at approximately 12:45 a.m. for Dave and Busters for the Post Prom Party. We will be riding on coach buses. It is recommended that students do not bring bags as they will not need to buy anything. If a student does bring a bag, it will be searched before boarding the bus. We will leave the Post Prom Party at approximately 4:30 a.m. and return to Pallotti at approximately 5:00 a.m. The students will go into Pallotti and retrieve the bags containing their formal wear. We ask that parents/guardians pick their students up at Pallotti at 5 a.m. as the students will be extremely tired and it may be dangerous for them to drive. Parents/guardians are asked to be on time when picking up their son/daughter. The chaperones have also been up all night and will not leave until all students have been safely picked up by a parent.
Pallotti Seniors who do not attend Prom are invited to attend the Post Prom. They may not bring a guest. Those students should be at the Ten Oaks Ballroom at 12 a.m. All students attending the Post Prom must ride on the buses.
Students who sign up to go to the Post Prom must remain at Dave and Busters the entire time. Leaving early or arriving late is not an option.
