Every member of St. Vincent Pallotti High School is encouraged to participate in
service opportunities that reach out to the poor and powerless. We
encourage students to continue service to those individuals in need. Each student is required to complete 20 hours of service each year.
Only
the following types of service fulfill the student requirement (unless
permission has been obtained from the Christian Service
Coordinator). All service must be performed after normal school
hours.
1. Nursing homes
2. Assisted living facilities
3. Rehabilitation centers
4. Hospitals
5. Soup kitchens
6. Food banks/pantries
7. Participation in fundraisers that raise awareness for
life-threatening diseases and illnesses such as:
1. Breast Caner
2. Cystic Fibrosis
3. American Diabetes Association
8. Mentoring/tutoring programs
9. St. Vincent Pallotti Campus Ministry-sponsored service events.
Service to SVPHS outside the above guidelines must be approved in
advance by the Service Coordinator. To receive recognition and
credit for service hours, submit all hours on this website:
Any service not approved by the service coordinator
The Administrative Team reserves the right to review and verify all Christian Service Hours.
September 30, 2008 - credit for summer hours due. January 30, 2009 - credit for first semester hours due. April 22, 2009 - credit for second semester hours due. Failure to complete service hours by this date will result in Saturday detention.
