Letter from the President

Dear parents and Students:
Everyone at Pallotti is gearing up for the new school year. We have been very busy with camps, enrichment programs, rentals, etc. Even though the students are out for the summer the building is still busy every day. We are the host school for five Trinity College classes – about 100 teachers are here taking classes and we have three McDaniel College classes going on in the evening.

There are some sports changes in the works. Unfortunately, we are dropping our Tennis program – both boys and girls. We are looking for a field hockey coach, if you know anyone interested, please contact myself or Mr. Walker. We are looking into starting a “track” team for both boys and girls, in the spring.

CASHLESS CAFETERIA Pallotti will again be offering the CASHLESS CAFETERIA SYSTEM for the upcoming school year. For new incoming families, this program offers a system where you can open an account, deposit money into the account as needed, and your son or daughter will need no cash for any purchases from the cafeteria. This is very similar to the type of systems used in college cafeterias. You will receive an additional letter completely explaining how to set up the account and deposit money.

Here are some of the benefits of the CASHLESS CAFETERIA:
• Set daily spending limits
• View your payment history and daily purchases made by your son or daughter in the cafeteria
• Increases parent control of money spent and improves food choices

Additionally, the system will allow parents to plan and budget school lunch purchases from home. There is a $40 annual fee for participating in this program; all funds go to the software provider. The school does not profit from any of the fees associated with this program. There are a number of different ways to manage the account, either online or directly with the school. This will be explained in the future mailing.

However, the main benefit is that the student will not have to carry any money to school for lunch purchases. Students are identified when they come to purchase their lunch through an infrared system which captures a finger imprint. Again, more information will be forthcoming.

If you have any immediate questions, please contact Rick Diggs, Vice Principal of Operations at extension 207.
