This scholarship was established in the memory of Daniel Sung
Walser a graduate of Class of 2002. Daniel was a student athlete
who participated in soccer, wrestling, lacrosse, and swimming
during his four years at Pallotti. Daniel was a confident, sincere,
and genuine young man who captured the hearts of young and old
though his love of life, regard for humankind, and ability to
ponder the “big picture”. He truly was a “rare find” as he
described himself in his personal essay submitted for application
to enter St. Vincent Pallotti High School. This scholarship seeks to
honor student athletes who embody the same character and
integrity as Daniel.
Student Eligibility
Applicants must be currently enrolled at St. Vincent Pallotti as a
9th, 10th, or 11th grade student athlete participating in soccer,
wrestling, lacrosse, and/or swimming. Transfer students must
complete one full year of attendance at St. Vincent Pallotti High
School before applying for this scholarship.
While this scholarship is non-renewable, a student may apply in
subsequent years.
This $1000 scholarship will be given annually to help offset
tuition.
Selection Criteria
Applicant must enclose a typed essay in 150 – 250 words
addressing the following question:
Why I am a “rare find” within the walls of St. Vincent
Pallotti, and How I plan to use the experience I gain here. They must also complete the scholarship application, which can be downloaded by clicking here.
Selection of the award winner will be made by the selection
committee and be announced no later than May 29, 2009.
