Description: This one semester course introduces the student to the basic components of public speaking-with emphasis on understanding the communication process. Students learn the four methods of speech delivery including skills in preparing for and presenting a variety of polished speeches.

Description: This year-long course has the sole responsibility of producing the annual yearbook which is a printed record of the school year. The student will use In Design and Jostens Yeartech programs to produce the book. There is an extensive journalistic writing component and time management is a must. Students will also learn basic photojournalism skills that will enhance layout and design ability. Students will also be required to participate in selling advertising in order to learn about publishing costs and balancing budgets when producing a product.

Description: This one semester course is an introduction to the highlights of the French-speaking world, and the contributions made by French scientists, artists, politicians, and explorers. The course will be divided into one or two week topic sessions, including but not limited to the geography and cities of France, painters, cuisine, French language influence on the English language, and French-speaking areas around the world.
