As the Director of Campus Ministry I am responsible for keeping alive the charisma of St. Vincent and helping us as a community to stay focused on our goals of sharing the Catholic faith and creating a community of peace and justice. I graduated from the University of Maryland in 1983 with a BS in Family and Community Development. I am a certified catechist for the Washington Archdiocese. I have also been certified in Youth Ministry at the diocesan level. I am presently working on a masters in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola. After working as a crisis intervention counselor for several years I took the position as the Director of Youth Ministry at St. Nicholas Church in 1998. I came to Pallotti in 2000. In 2003 I was invited to work with the teens at St. Mary of the Mills Parish part time.
I have been married for twenty five years to Michael Vawter. We have three lovely daughters and one granddaughter. We have lived in Laurel all of our lives and enjoy being a part of this wonderful city rich in history and packed full of wonderful caring people.
